A good effort!

I really have been out of touch with all of the moustache palaver! Until last night I hadn't posted on here since April 2012. I haven't sported a proper mo for some while - probably last Movember! And I haven't looked at my moustache video until just now and I got a pleasant surprise...

16000 views! That is incredible. The last time I looked it hadn't even got past 10000 views!

If you haven't seen it yet, or even in a while you can see it here...

Pretty darn awesome!

Still trying to figure out whether to keep this blog going or not!

Its been a while....

Hello World.

I havent posted for nearly 18 months. During this time I have sported a fair few moustaches (including one that raised a further £650 for charity - Last Movember)! I have travelled Europe, completed my degree (Graduating with a 2:1 in Physics and Astrophysics), developed an awesome relationship with A GIRL (moving in together this weekend), had a sweet holiday in Holland, and obtained a new motor vehicle.

I am considering returning to blogging, be it on this blog or elsewhere, but I shall keep you posted!

OHHH! The people who mugged me and my friend (see my last post before this) were caught and jailed!

Life is sweet.

Peace

Henry

The Return of the Moustache

Right, hello everyone.

Its been nearly two months since I have made a post, which isn't acceptable! I still havent shaved since my last post, but have found myself very busy, I'll update you.

So, I turned 21 in March!! I AM OLD!! I had a great night on a small homemade barcrawl with friends. We moved through about 4 bars and then onto 'Red Leicester', a night at the Students Union. All was going extremely well until I walked home with a friend after the night had finished and this happened.

At least the tache sill looked good :)
We were both attacked and had our phones stollen. Luckily, the police caught the two guys about 15 minutes later. Strangely enough, I still havent got my phone back! Anyway, it made for a memorable night, and my housemate and I have now fully recovered from our cuts and bruises.

The following weekend I went up to Leeds with Mummy and Daddy, to see my Brother, and to watch a Leeds United Football match. Although we only drew, it was great to be back in the ground, singing the songs & wearing the shirt for the first time since my 18th birthday. After the match, we went for a birthday meal at TGI Fridays. YUMMMMM...

BIRTHDAY BALLOON HAT!
I had THE best birthday meal imaginable! Steak, Ribs, Shrimp, Onion Rings, Chips & Veg + the Jack Daniels sauce. Delicious!!

OM NOM NOM NOM NOM. (And nothing got caught in the tache!)
So bringing an end to an excellent birthday week, Ill leave you with this. You can see that my cut face had gone down significantly in about 4 days.

Unfortunately, I havent been taking any daily photos this term, and I havent been near my brother for him to take any half decent photos. I have nearly been growing this moustache for as long as the last one and it can only get better from here.

If you havent seen it already, here is the time-lapse of my last moustache.

I will try and keep you more up to date with what is going on, but I am heading home tomorrow for Easter and then it is into revision for my 11 Exams in May.

Take care everyone!

Bed.

Its been a bed day.

Not a bad day, a bed day. Its all snowy across England and my house is cold. I have spent the day wrapped up warm in bed watching football, paying some bills and I am about to start reading about my next lab project.

My next lab research will be looking at more active galactic nuclei. I will be working in a group of 4 studying many galaxies and trying to identify black holes at their centres. Interesting times. Anyway...

My moustache is growing back quite pleasingly. I have just taken this photo from my aforementioned bed. It's nearly at the point where I can twirl the ends. I am excited to be able to appear extra-intelligent.

My moustache video has gotten over 1000 views, which is excellent, however, I was hoping for more. Maybe I should post it on other websites too? If you haven't seen it, the link for it is in the sentence before this. Please share it around for me : )

I have also currently raised a staggering £1373.52. So a huge thank you to everyone how has donated. You can still donate though, the link is below. Of course, the reason I grew my first tache and raised that money was in support of my Mum, who remains strong through her three weekly treatments. Love you Mummy : ) (I imagine you'll read this.)

I will try and keep you posted with progress of my current tache. In the mean time, I have to get some food and pop some beer in the fridge for the Superbowl tonight. Gonna be awesome.

Until next time, hope you all stay warm throughout this snowy time!

Henry.

: { )

OH NO, NOT AGAIN.....

Ok, so its 3am. I can't sleep, slightly hungry BUT warm in my bed.

I have been meaning to do a post on here for a while but have been revising/writing my lab report on Black holes in Active Galactic Nuclei. Its been a crazy week. Bring on next Friday, Spaceflight essay submission day! I really should start that.

Anywhooo, I haven't shaved in a while and I think I am going to grow another moustache. The thing is, as previously mentioned, I really miss my mo. Only problem, several people have expressed their hatred for my tache. I have weighed this up against how many say I look about 12.

Actually, who am I kidding, I don't care. I'm growing another one. HOORAHHH. I miss twirling the ends whist sipping on a delightful cuppa tea. I like to think it makes me smarter. :)

I don't have any interesting photos to share with you yet, I haven't been taking my daily photos this time around. Another thing I should really do. I should make another video. Don't forget to check out my last moustache. Click Here.

I lied. I found one. Say hi to my bro :) His blog is at the top right of the page :)

Please excuse the exceptionally hairy arm. I promise it is the light...
See y'all soon,

Na' night

I miss it!

Its been a few days since I shaved and quite frankly, I miss it.

I have been considering growing another one, but am left unsure after mixed opinions last time. Loads of people said it looked good and that it was the best mo they've ever seen, yet some people said that it really didn't suit me. Maybe I am just too young for a massive moustache. Maybe something a little more subtle?

I just don't know, but here is a pic of my mo on Christmas day!

Also, please check out my video of my daily photos. It can be found here.

For now, more pondering...

Happy Moustache...

and a Happy New Year!!

Hi everyone,

A very Happy Christmas to you all. It doesn't seem like a year since last christmas. These past 12 months have flown by. They have, of course, been a difficult 12 months, especially for Mum, with her fight against Breast Cancer. Things seem to be progressing nicely, and treatment is going well, despite the fact that it is still making her feel much less than 100%.

I would like to extend an ABSOLUTELY HUGE Christmassy thank you to everyone who has helped make life easier for us all (like take mum to treatments etc.) and to everyone who has helped me reach my £1000 target. I am overjoyed at the response that I have received with my fundraising. Even customers at work have been donating generously, giving around £80 pounds in the past 3 shifts. :)

Anyway, it is bedtime for me because santa will be here soon! :D I shall leave you with this picture!

Merry Christmas to you all.

Lots of love,

Henry

Home sweet home

Hi Y'all.

I am back in Milton Keynes. I am home. It is great to be with the fam again and also lovely to have a warm house, with food in the fridge.

I have just realised that I plan to shave in just under a week. I'm going to look SO YOUNG.

I know I posted the second picture in the last post, but it is here for comparison.

Anyway, I should carry on with my university work, I'll keep you updated to how my shave goes in a few days time.

Also, please, if you havent already, donate to my fundraising page through the link above :)

Thanks

Hello again!

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted! I think it's been about 2 weeks. I have been working hard on my Third Year Lab Project for my degree. The last week I have been putting a presentation together on Active Galactic Nuclei and how a technique called Reverberation Mapping can be used to measure a black hole mass. All very interesting!

I have a few photos to share with you, including a current photo of my tache. By current, I mean i have just taken the pic. :)

As I have mentioned in previous posts, my housemates, Ben, Gibbs & Dom all missioned through November without shaving. Below is a photo of Ben and I a few days into December. I wish I had a photo with Gibbs and Dom, but Gibbs shaved before I had the chance to get a pic, and Dom's was barely noticeable.

Also, check out my moustache tee! :D

And now, I give you my face... This is literally what my face looks like as I am typing this.

Finally, I would like to send a friendly reminder to everyone who asked me to remind them to donate! I have raised £1067 so far, but would love to make that total higher!!!

I will see you all soon in another post, for now, a glass of wine awaits! :)

Good day.

HATS!

So the concentration of moustaches amongst men dwindles until next year. I read that all the participants of Movember have raised a record amount of money this year, which is good news.

My mo is staying until Christmas, I am using my advent calendar to count down the days!

This is going to be a quick post as I am currently in University & have work to be getting on with. I would like to show you some rather embarrassing photos taken last week by my housemate. I was wearing his hat and he took some photos. It definitely does not suit me!

Disgusting.

Similarities

It' been a good day. Donations have been pouring in today, people have generously given £140 just today! It feels excellent to have reached my target. I cannot believe that my initial target was £300. I thought I was being really optimistic!

Anyway, people have been suggesting who I look like with a moustache over the past few months. There have been claims that I look French, Spanish and even Italian. I have been likened to have a Freddie Mercury moustache, to look like Johnny Depp when my tache was combined with eyeliner, and some delightful chap yelled Hitler at me in Leeds.

But now, it gets better. My Godfather has sent me this!

I chuckled when I saw this earlier today.

I am looking to try and do some different styles with my tache to share with you later this week. Until then,

Keep donating!

Target Reached!

SUCCESS! I have reached my target! I am literally over the moon. You guys have helped me raise £1000 for Breast Cancer Care, which is a very worthy cause. I would like to extend a personal thank you to all of you who have donated. I have been taken a little by surprise at the support that you have all given to myself and my family over this past (nearly whole) year.

I am currently in University, so am taking a small break to share my face of happiness with you all.

WOOHOOOOOO!!!
So there we are, £1000 raised, bushy tache grown & humiliation achieved!

WAIT!!! More donations... £1020 now. OH MY GOD! :D

Let's smash this target...

Speak to you all soon.

Henry

P.S. Please donate on my Just Giving page here.

Please help

I have raised LOADS. As I write this I have raised £875! I am so pleased with the amount that I have raised

BUT

I know that we can raise more. I recently enabled the donate by text feature that JustGiving offers (click here for anyone who is interested about the finer details). To donate, text the following

HSMO99 £2

to 70070.

You can, of course, change the amount as you wish. Donations can also be made in the regular way by clicking "Please donate here" link at the top of the page.

Every donation is greatly appreciated and will go towards helping to fight Breast Cancer and ultimately towards finding a cure. So please, if you haven't already, give what you can and help support me in raising as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.

Thanks in advance, more moustache updates soon.

Picture No. 3

With 8 days of Movember remaining, I am seeing a fair number of blokes sporting moustaches around the university campus. It is a shame that many people are mistaking my moustache to be part of Movember, but it hasn't been too much hassle to explain that I'm raising for Breast Cancer instead.

Maybe next year I will grow a mo as part of Movember, I would love to be part of the vast number of guys who are growing mos for our bros.

Anyway, as I mentioned in my last post, I was waiting on the third photo from my visit to see my brother, George, in Leeds at the weekend. I am really please at how this one has turned out. Check it out...

Vintage!
I was discussing George's course structure and assignments with him and I think he wants to do some more photos at Christmas. He can use them as progress and to develop his portrait techniques.

I have also been thinking about how to combine all my daily photos into a time-lapse video and how to put a cool ending on it. When I have a finalised plan, I will enlighten you all.

I am currently writing this in a 4th year lecture which I am doing a year early, but we are only running through some answers to some work we submitted this morning, it all seems OK. The lecturer would say

"It's trivial".

It really is.

Until next time.

Photos from Leeds

As I wrote yesterday, I visited my Bro with no Mo up in t' north in Leeds this weekend. He took a few photos when we were slowly walking to the train station and here they are. Well 2 out of three of them. I am hoping he can edit the third for me, I have a fairly good idea of what I would like it to look like. As soon as I have a copy, I shall share it with you.

Anyway, here are the first two.

How about that for a Handlebar?
I a really pleased at how this turned out, maybe I should send it to the Handlebar Club or a moustache competition? One of the youngest with a handlebar?

I also found this poster, which is a weekly event at one of the more student esque bars. Upsettingly, it apparently turns out to be a bit of a let down as far as nights out go. Unfortunately I am unlikely to be in Leeds when this night is on.

I have now raised £831 for Breast Cancer. 83% of my target! Very pleased! Keep supporting such a great cause!

Good night.

Leeds, Rabbits & Hitler

Just a quick update, pictures will follow in the next post.

I spent last night in Leeds visiting my Brother at uni. We had a great time catching up and had a decent night spent with a couple of drinks at a University halls & a small bar in the town centre.

I went out with my moustache styled as in this post, and the reaction was insane! The amount of people who asked me if said tache was real was very surprising. A very kind random gentleman randomly donated some money, which I have put on my fundraising page as a text donation. The random donations catch me totally by surprised and I am left a little like a rabbit in headlights. I just do not know what to say! It is however, of course, greatly appreciated. :)

Another thing that surprised me was the delightful young chap who shouted "HITLER" at me outside the station in Leeds. Again, left speechless like a rabbit in headlights. He must have an absolutely sterling education... I think it is safe to say that everyone reading my blog will recognise that my moustache does not resemble Hitler's.

On the way back to the train station we stopped in a park local to my brothers halls and took some piccies. I will put them up here as soon as my dear brother has worked his magic editing them. I am hoping that this will be tomorrow.

Speak to y'all soon.

My Proper Handlebar Moustache

As mentioned in my last post, I recently ordered some moustache wax. I promised photos as soon as it came and for those of you lucky enough to see the first picture on my facebook this morning, I hope you were pleasantly impressed.

For the rest of you here is a photo that I took this afternoon.

I am going to see my brother in Leeds this weekend, so I will get him to take a photo and have it edited properly, seeing as he is a photography student. (His blog is linked at the top)

Until early next week,

Good day,

Henry

Style is Everything...

We live in a time where fashion and style are incredibly important. It recently came to my attention that my untamed moustache is going to go wild if precautionary measures are not taken.

To counter a moustache style disaster I ordered some of Capt. Fawcett's Moustache Wax, pictured below.

The wax I ordered is lightly scented with sandalwood
With any luck I will look as stylish and suave as this cat dog. The internet loves animals, but in my opinion this gentleman kitty doggy is one of the best online animals out there.

Gentleman kitty doggy approves...
I will be very quick to show you my styled moustache when it arrives this week.

Now for a joke? Bad jokes are sometimes the best. I am not sure in this case...

An angry mob is walking through the streets when someone yells, "Hey! Lets hang that guy with a moustache!"

Someone else yells, "Nah, lets use a rope!"

I have to admit, I did laugh when I heard that last night. (Thanks Sam.)

Anyway, I will post again when my wax comes!

Good day,

Henry

:{)

Edit: It has kindly been bought to my attention that this is in fact a dog, not a cat. Apologies for the falseness of my post, the website that I found it said that it was a cat. Thank you to the person who corrected me.

Hello Zombies & Eyeliner

Let me start with an apology, I haven't blogged this week due to various Physics assignments and a couple of house viewings. Sorry about that!

In this post I aim to enlighten you all with some more up to date photos of how my moustache is coming along. It has now been a few weeks since halloween, but I will start the update with a few pictures from our Zombie night out.

We spent most of two hours sorting out our makeup, shirts and most importantly creating our wounds. We used liquid latex and tissue paper to build up layers which, when painted look like real injuries.

A bit too much eye makeup?
(See below for more..)
Many people that night also dressed as zombies, which made for an interesting evening, but when you dress as a zombie, you need a little more than a red marker pen to do your wounds. The extra effort goes a long way doesn't it?
How real does that look?!
So I entered November looking like a crazed moustache wearing zombie. A few days later and I was looking ridiculous once again. Before we went to the Students Union for the "Red Leicester" club night I was promised a donation to my Justgiving page if I wore eyeliner for the night.

I figured if I have been growing a mo for upwards of two months then how bad could it be? What I completely forgot to consider was the fact that a 20 year old student with a fairly substantial moustache attracts a fair bit of attention. As I mentioned a few posts back, many people approach me on nights out with compliments etc. Many even ask if it is real.

Anyway, the eyeliner was brought up by many many people that night, never again do I want random people coming over to me with "are you wearing eyeliner?". In most cases I managed to answer the question with one swift hand gesture...

"FOR CHARITY"

was scribbled on my hand. Here is one of the rather embarrassing photos from that night.

They LOVED it.
This pretty much brings me up to date with the interesting pictures that i have to share, except this, Day 65

Todays (no. 65) tache.
As always, I would like to extent my gratitude to all of those who have donated. The support really means a lot, I have now raised £724! OVER SEVEN HUNDRED POUNDS! That's over twice my original £300 target.

Now, although this is an excellent amount so far, I must stress that this is 'so far'. I want to continue to raise money and absolutely smash my target. If that means wearing more eyeliner or doing other embarrassing things (within reason of course) in return for donations to Breast Cancer Care then so be it! If you have any ideas comment below with your idea and how much you will sponsor me to do said thing and I will strongly consider it!

Until next time, adios, and good luck to all of the gentlemen participating in Movember, some of the Mos that i have seen so far look fairly impressive!

Henry
